Mutual funds — profit or loss from redemptions
Did you redeem (sell) any mutual fund units this year? Equity funds and debt funds are taxed very differently.
Debt funds (post April 2023): Gains are now taxed at your normal income slab rate — the old 20% with indexation no longer applies.
